In a bizarre crossover event that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Disclosed

According to the formal announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of prohibited practices and fearsome changes reverberate through the shadows." The plot features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine group.

The questline centers on "peculiar trials and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Changes

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Additional Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with numerous artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

This update also brings the game's third free story addition, titled "The Mystery." True to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
